Children need and want to develop. To be able to develop well they need security and attention. Their whole environment is allowing them to unfold their personal strengths.

Sometimes the mental well-being of a child is affected. Effects can be disordered development, problematic behavior or difficulty in school. In a situation like this it is possible to look for the reasons with a thorough assessement. Depending on the situation a one-on-one therapy for the child, familiy therapy, couples therapy for the parents or communicating with involved authorities (e.g. schools, KESB) is indicated.

Psychotherapy for adolescents

Adolescents have to take on more duties and responsibilities as they get older and at the same time they want to be more independent and self-determined. With the growing independence and responsibility, they are still dependent on their parents. This situation is not always easy to manage for the adolescents. This conflict of self-determination and responsibility might result in crisis and problems. Often these difficult situations can not be put into words by the adolescents and result in anxiety, aggression, refusal, closeness or sadness.

For therapy with children and adolescents under 18 the agreement of the parents or legal guardian is needed. Nevertheless we would like to emphasize that of course professional confidentiality in therapy with children and adolescents is also protected. Even though they are minors we only give out information to parents if we have the agreement of the child or adolescent.
