Although I draw on psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, relational and humanistic approaches and models to psychotherapy, I believe that while the theories underpinning these approaches are useful, each person’s situation is unique, and the child, his or her parents, and families are the experts on their own lifes. Hence, the methods applied will vary according to the individual and the presented issues and aim to help clients to develop a greater understanding of the unseen patterns of behaviour that can underlie psychological distress.

When working with children I incorporate creative media such as art, play and sand therapy in order to facilitate the exploration and expression of feelings and thoughts.

Regular meetings with parents involve them in their child’s therapy and give parents the opportunity to discuss further any problematic areas and review progress.
